                                      Clementine Gasser, 5-string cello

On their quest for commonalities and links between cultures,

the cellist and composer
Clementine Gasser, known for

“subversive classical avant-garde”, the sitar player
Klaus Falschlunger who prefers experimental sounds, and Pepe Fiore,
tabla player and multi-percussionist, succeeded in weaving connections between avant-garde, Indian music and world music:

Finely honed shifts in sound-scapes and cluster                                         formations and subtly chosen motivic sequences                                         guide the listener to open spaces that offer
breathing space for improvised reflections on the                                     musical themes.

Differentiated sound structures and extended “sound baths” characterise     the correspondence “between worlds”.

                       Pepe Fiore, tabla/percussion

The artists reach a remarkable and touching depth in taking up and confronting each other’s very different  musico- philosophical dimensions.

The concert programme includes original compositions and adaptations of tracks on the CD Menuhin meets Shankar.
